1. When you came in you were given a popsicle stick with a number on it. You will be divided into those groups for this activity. The 1s will be one group. The 2s will form a group, etc.
2. Each group will be assigned one character from the movie.
3. We will watch the movie as a class.
4. Each group will complete their character's cyberbullying worksheets (2) as a group.
4. Each group will print out their final worksheets and print the names of all group members at the top of each.
5. Each person has been assigned a job (descriptions are below) and given 5 colored Popsicle sticks. You must perform the duties of the job you have been given and use all 5 Popsicle sticks to receive full credit for this activity.
6. You will receive a group grade for your completed worksheets and two personal grades for participation and meeting your job requirements.

How do their actions affect the feelings of other people?
Step 2: Group Discussion
1. Look at your Group Paper to see what job you have been assigned
2. Take one pack of 5 Popsicle sticks
3. Read the job description for that job to make sure you know what your responsibilities
are. Each time you add to the group discussion, give one Popsicle stick to the assessor.
4. As a group discuss and complete the Cyberbullying Worksheets in PowerPoint (Step 3)
Jobs
You have each been assigned a job for this activity. (see the handout for your group)
Timekeeper:
Makes sure the group keeps moving toward completing the worksheets during the time allowed. The timekeeper will announce the 15 minute mark and the 25 minute mark.
Moderator:
Calls on people to speak in the group. Makes sure everyone gets a chance to speak.
Assessor:
Collects popsicle sticks of people as they speak.
2 Recorders:
One recorder will type the group's answers on the first worksheet. The second recorder will type the answers of the group on the second slide.
Step 3: Completing the Cyberbullying Chain Reaction Worksheets (2 pages)
Directions: (Directions are also at the beginning of the PowerPoint)
1. Open the Cyberbullying Chain Reaction Worksheets in PowerPoint
2. List at least three behaviors (actions) from the movie.
3. For each behavior (action) answer:
What happened because of the characters actions?
For example: How did Emma and the other students react to the character's actions? In other words,what happened because of what that person did? Did the person's actions (behavior) make someone else act in a certain way?
How did those actions make Emma feel?
4. Then decide if the behavior is bullying, cyberbullying, or neither.
5. Finally, write what the character could have done differently to have stopped or prevented the bullying or cyberbullying. (Type inside the colored boxes. The type will shrink to fit.)
6. Print your 2 slides
7. Print the names of your group at the top of BOTH slides

Goal:
Students will create a poster increasing public awareness of cyberbullying.
Objectives:
1. Working in groups of 5, students will analyze and describe cyberbullying seen in the video "At A Distance".
2. Students will create a diary entry for the victim of the cyberbullying seen in the video "At A Distance".
